Chisinau, Oct. 19 /MOLDPRES/- A border policeman, the director of a training center of National Army and one of their accomplices were detained by the National Anticorruption Center and prosecutors for a bribe of 24,000 lei (about 1,200 euros).
According to CNA, the three are being investigated in a case of influence peddling, passive corruption and forgery of public documents. They are suspected of taking bribes worth 24,000 lei to help a man obtain a driver's license more easily.
Under the investigation, the border policeman, in complicity with the head of the Cantemir branch of the training center of the National Army, allegedly demanded and received 24,000 lei from a man, under the pretext of having influence over several employees of the Cantemir branch of the Center and the Section for the registration of means of transport and the qualification of drivers in Cahul which could favor the successful passing of the driving test, although the applicant did not attend the training classes and was in the records of the narcologist.
Following special investigation and criminal prosecution actions, the three were recognized as suspects and detained for 72 hours.
