Decision on creation of Agency for Military Science and Memory enters into force
Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/- The government's decision on organizing and functioning of the Agency for Military Science and Memory entered into force today with its publication in the Official Journal. This will be an administrative authority subordinated to the Ministry of Defense, through the merger of the Public Institution Center for Military Culture and History and the Center for Strategic Defense and Security Studies within the Military Academy of the Armed Forces Alexandru cel Bun.
Under the decision, the Agency aims at developing and ensuring the implementation of state policy in the military science, scientific research in security and defense, military memory and history, and to ensure compliance with the regime of graves and war memorials. The Agency will perform its functions established by a Regulation, in the following fields of activity: military science, scientific research in the segment of national security and defense and military history; military memory, promotion of national and international historical values and traditions; state control over the regime of graves and war memorials.
The government decision established the limit strength of the Agency in number of 75 units with an annual remuneration fund under the law.
The agency will be headed by director, appointed to public office and released or dismissed from public office under the law by the Minister of Defense. The director of the Agency is assisted by two deputy heads appointed and released from office, in accordance with the law by the Minister of Defense, at the proposal of the director of the Agency.
