From technical point of view, switch to digital television carried out in Moldova
Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan Audiovisual Council member Corneliu Mihalache told an exclusive interview with AIS MOLDPRES that the switch to digital television, from a technical point of view, was carried out.
"Seven Moldovan TV channels already broadcast in digital system. I do not understand why the authorities, the current government and the previous ones have not officially declared that the Republic of Moldova has switched to digital TV," Mihalache said. According to him, all TV sets currently marketed have the ability to receive the digital signal emitted by these televisions.
In 2006, the Republic of Moldova signed the Agreement of the Regional Conference for Radiocommunication, according to which it was obliged until June 2015 to make the transition to digital television. The transition process was extended until 1 March 2020. The digital broadcast system ensures broadcasting 15 TV channels on a single frequency, while maintaining a high quality picture and sound.
