Meteorologists announce Yellow Code of frost in Moldova
Chisinau, 10 May /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has announced a Yellow Code of frost for 11 May.
According to meteorologists, frost of -1 - -2 Celsius degrees is expected on the surface of the soil on 11 May.
SHS specialists say that, during May, frost poses the greatest danger out of all spontaneous weather phenomena. Also, the intensive frost is the most dangerous for the agricultural crops in May. Frost causes considerable damage to the harvest of fruits trees on the period of flowering. The probability of the harming by frost of flowers and fruits of apricot in May is 15-40 per cent on average and at the other fruit trees – up to 15 per cent.
