Moldova 1 TV station marks 62nd anniversary of foundation
Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldova 1 TV station marks its 62nd anniversary of foundation on 30 April.
According to the director of the Moldova 1 public television station, Ecaterina Stratan, the station maintains its audience through diversity of programmes, as well as by traditions.
The first programme at the Moldovan television was broadcast on 30 April 1958 at 19:00 and included a greeting on behalf of the Soviet and party bodies, a TV magazine, Soviet Moldova, a feature film, Moldovan Songs and a light concert music from Leningrad. The moderators of the first programme were the actresses Constanta Tartau and Ariadna Kazanskaia.
On the first period, the television of Moldova was broadcasting twice a week, on Fridays and Sundays and then three times per week and in late 1958, the television was broadcasting four times per week. In the same year, the first broadcasting of a play from the A.P Chekhov Russian Dramatic Theatre was carried out.
The first director of the television was Andrei Timus, afterwards corresponding member of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences.
