Moldovan foreign affairs ministry issues warning of travel to Middle East

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) issued a warning of travel to the countries of the Middle East today afternoon.

„Taking into account the insecurity situation in the Middle East, triggered by the war in Israel, which is accompanied by multiple protests and social revolts in the countries of the region, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry recommends that Moldova’s citizens who are or plan to travel to the region, especially to such countries as Lebanon or Jordan, exercise enhanced prudence. Constant informing from local sources about the security situation and attentive compliance with instruction by law enforcement forces is recommended,’’ the MAEIE communiqué reads.

Also, the Moldovan diplomacy informs that Moldova’s citizens who are in the Middle East and need to be consulted on consular problems are urged to contact Moldova’s Embassy in Turkey: ankara@mfa.gov.md and the phone number +905416872104 in the 24/7 regime.
