Moldovan, Romanian sappers placing pontoon bridge at Leova-Bumbăta
Chisinau, May 11 /MOLDPRES/- Soldiers of the "Codru" Engineer Battalion of the National Army and soldiers of the 72nd Engineer Battalion "General Constantin Savu" of the 10th Lower Danube Engineer Brigade of the Romanian army continue today the actions of placing the elements of the pontoon bridge that will operationalize Leova- Bumbata.
According to commander of the "Codru" Engineer Battalion Gheorghe Racu, the works to connect the elements of the pontoon bridge which is anchored to the Moldovan bank of the Prut river started this week.
Recently, the commander of the National Army, Eduard Ohladciuc, inspected the works performed by the Moldovan-Romanian engineer subunits, mentioning the good cooperation and synchronization of the military on the two banks of the Prut.
The construction project began in the summer of 2022.
