Moldpres State News Agency to be reorganized into public institution
Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - The state enterprise, Moldpres State News Agency, will be reorganized through transformation into a public institution, due to have the same name. The State Chancellery will exercise the duty of founder of the public institution Moldpres State News Agency. The government approved a decision to this effect today.
The heritage of the state enterprise will be transmitted to the management of the public institution and the making redundant of the staff in connection with the reorganization of the state enterprise Moldpres State News Agency will be carried out in accordance with the labour legislation, if it is impossible to transfer it.
Under the cabinet’s decision, the Moldpres Agency will provide, in a two-month period, the organization of the holding of the contest for selecting the director of the institution. Till the appointment of the director of the public institution, in line with its Status, the position of director of the concerned institution will be temporarily held by the manager of the state enterprise Moldpres State News Agency, under reorganization, who will undertake all needed actions to carry out the reorganization process.
The cabinet of ministers also approved the Status of the Public Institution, Moldpres State News Agency. Under the document, the Moldpres Agency has the task to ensure the production and spread of information, publication and editing of official acts, informing the public opinion of Moldova and from abroad about the state’s policy and current activities of Moldova’s public authorities, providing editorial, polygraphic and advertising services, production and commercialization of photo and video materials.
The agency will spread “objective and truthful information on the state policy and current activity of the public authorities from Moldova” and will have the mission to ensure the editing of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) of Moldova and the supplements to it. The agency will also have the duty to edit official, informative, documentary, cognitive, entertaining, social and political periodical publications and books.
The work of the Moldpres Agency will be financed from: incomes got from the providing of services, subsidies/subventions received from the state budget through the State Chancellery, as well as other legal sources.
