More tourists prefer to visit Moldova, according to study
Chisinau, 10 August /MOLDPRES/ – The experience of foreign tourists who visited Moldova has exceeded, in most cases, their expectations, and about 76 per cent of them are interested in returning to Moldova, according to data from a study conducted by Magenta Consulting at the initiative of the National Inbound Tourism Association of Moldova (ANTRIM).
According to the study results, which is being carried out for the third year in a row, "the number of tourists which prefer to visit Moldova is increasing, and many of them come to Moldova being urged by our patriots from the Diaspora".
As it stands to the factors that motivate foreign tourists to rest in Moldova, the director of the Magenta Consulting opinion centre, Dumitru Slonovschi, has explained that 47 per cent of them wanted to taste Moldovan wine, and 37 per cent – to visit the wineries of Moldova.
Also, 37 per cent of respondents mentioned that they came from the desire to visit the monuments of Moldova, 33 per cent because they saw pictures on the Internet and were intrigued by the beauty of the places. Similarly, 1/3 of those interviewed said they came from a desire to learn more about the customs and traditions of the place.
On the other hand, the results of the survey revealed that, although the general impression about tourists is good, both foreign and Diaspora tourists are dissatisfied with the infrastructure, access to info for tourists etc.
According to authorities, the results of Survey of tourists at border at the exit from Moldova could provide more data for setting of a tourism policy for upcoming 10 years.
