New information campaign for promoting vaccination against COVID-19 launched in Moldovan capital
Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/ - A new information campaign regarding the promotion of the anti-COVID-19 vaccination was launched in Chisinau today. Thus, in the next two months, citizens will be able to take knowledge of the process of vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 in more than 100 drug stores from Moldova.
The event is part of the national information campaign launched by the health authorities to promote the immunization and support the World Health Organization (WHO).
Attending the launch event was also the state secretary at the Health Ministry, Zinaida Bezverhni. She reiterated the need to speed up the process of residents’ vaccination, noting that only the immunization can prevent the serious forms of the disease.
„The vaccination can prevent the serious forms of hospitalization and this was clearly proved by the states with vaccination coverage of over 70 per cent. Presently, young people represent a big potential of spread of the virus, so that this age category must be vaccinated to a greater and greater extent. At present, 30 per cent of the adult population is immunized,’’ the official said.
He specified that Moldova had enough stocks of vaccine from more producers.
Statistics data shows that 1,375,981 vaccine doses have been administered in Moldova so far.
