New pollutant-capturing system installed in north Moldova locality

A new system for capturing polluting substances today was installed at the Arionesti dam, northern Donduseni district. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu paid a visit to the site, where the measures implemented so far in the context of the situation on the Dniester River were also reviewed.

At present, six dams are set in Arionesti, and another one is to be mounted in the near future.

“At the Arionesti dam in Donduseni district, a new system for capturing polluting substances was installed today. I discussed with the teams directly involved in the intervention the ongoing works and the measures applied to limit the impact. At present, six dams are installed in Arionesti and another one is to be mounted in the near future,” said Alexandru Munteanu.

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today announced the resumption of drinking water supply in the districts of Balti, Soroca, Sangerei and Floresti, following the confirmation of safety indicators through laboratory analyses.

In this context, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today went to Balti, to discuss with the local public administration and with citizens the resumption of the water supply. The official noted that the authorities recommend that, over the next 48 hours, the water should be used only for household purposes.

According to the PM, the supply process is being carried out in stages, under the monitoring of the technical teams that worked to remedy the situation. Recent analyses of water quality showed that it falls within safe limits for human consumption, which allowed the reopening of distribution networks to the affected localities.
