Number of people vaccinated against COVID reached 124,695
Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/- A number of 124,695 people were vaccinated with at least one dose against COVID-19.
The leadership of the National Public Health Agency announced today that, in the eight weeks of vaccination, 113,135 citizens were immunized with the first dose and 11,560 with both doses.
The last few days, 250 thousand doses of vaccine from China and 71 thousand doses of Sputnik V have reached the country. With these vaccines, plus the existing ones, it will be possible to cover about 10 percent of the country's population.
According to ANSP, the vaccination campaign began to give the first results, with a decrease in morbidity among medical workers. Thus, the authorities recommend that immunization be continued with all available vaccines.
Since 2 March, over 1100 post-immunization events have been monitored in the country. The vast majority were mild side effects including fever and muscle aches, and 311 people tested positive for COVID-19 after being immunized.
