
Over 66 percent of education staff vaccinated against COVID
Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/- Total vaccination coverage rate of the staff from the educational institutions in the country was 66.7% with a dose and 41.94% with a complete vaccine cycle. The announcement was made yesterday by Minister of Education, Culture and Research Lilia Pogolșa at a meeting of the National Committee for Coordination of Vaccination.
In preschool education, out of the total number of staff - 28144, the vaccination coverage rate is 60.42% (with at least one dose). In primary, secondary and high school, out of the total number of staff - 44088, the vaccination coverage rate is 70.3%.
In higher education, out of the total number of staff - 9399, the vaccination coverage rate is 80.7% with at least one dose and 29.56% with a complete vaccine cycle.
In technical vocational education, out of the total number of staff - 6883, the vaccination coverage rate is 55.4% with at least one dose.
The head of education said that by the beginning of the new school year the vaccination rate will increase.
According to official data, so far, 1,051,038 doses of vaccine have been administered in our country, the vaccine coverage of the population being 18% with a single dose and 12.71% with a complete vaccine cycle.
