Over 400 12th-grade students from Chișinău visited Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) as part of the second edition of the national campaign Study in Moldova. The event is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Research.
The young people held meetings with the deans of the faculties, who provided information about the educational offer, scholarships and academic mobility, training and accommodation conditions, as well as about employment opportunities after graduation and possibilities for continuing higher or postgraduate studies at Nicolae Testemițanu USMF.
The deans encouraged the students to choose a study program at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, as it is the only institution that trains specialists for the healthcare system in our country and in another 32 countries, and health-related professions are noble and highly demanded on the labor market.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine No. 1 Gheorghe Plăcintă spoke about the evolution of the university’s educational system, which combines tradition with innovation and the integration of modern technologies in the study process, research and medical practice. The professor highlighted the educational offer: the integrated Medicine study program (6 years) and the bachelor’s programs: General Nursing (4 years), Public Health, Optometry, Radiology and Imaging Technologies, and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation (3 years).
Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Andrei Mostovei spoke about the integrated dentistry study program (5 years), emphasizing that this year a new bachelor’s program, Dental Nursing, with a duration of three years, will be launched.
In addition, the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Livia Uncu, informed the students about the integrated pharmacy study program and the launch of the bachelor’s program Medical Cosmetics and Technology of Cosmetic Products (3 years), starting from the 2026–2027 academic year.
The students attended the teaching process in lecture halls, classrooms and simulation rooms, and visited the Department of Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy, the Human Anatomy Museum, the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology, and the University Dental Center.
During the event, the University Center for Simulation in Medical Training, in partnership with the Association of Students and Residents in Medicine, conducted interactive workshops for prospective students: "Basic Course in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation" and "Medical Emergencies: Airway Obstruction." The Faculty of Pharmacy, in partnership with the Association of Pharmacy Students of the Republic of Moldova, organized a workshop entitled "Pharmacy Made Easy for Everyone: Science, Plants, Medicines."
The Faculty of Dentistry, in collaboration with the Association of Dental Students of Moldova, organized visits to the University Dental Center and thematic workshops: "Learning Dentistry through Simulation and Digitalization" and "Oral Health Prophylaxis."
Study in Moldova campaign is organized annually. Its objective is to inform as many high school and college graduates as possible about the study opportunities they have at home.
