DOC // Heating becomes cheaper for residents of Moldovan capital as of today
Starting today, residents of the capital will pay less for heating. The reduced tariffs come into force on Friday, February 13, once the decision of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) was published in the Official Journal. Thus, consumers will pay 2,020 lei for one gigacalorie, which is 490 lei less than before.
The decision was approved by ANRE on Thursday, February 12, under an emergency procedure, in order to allow the rapid application of the adjusted tariffs and to prevent the accumulation of new financial deviations.
The decrease in the heating tariff comes after the price of natural gas supplied to consumers was reduced. According to ANRE’s decision approved on February 3, the tariff decreased by 2.15 lei per cubic meter, down to the price of 13.35 lei, without VAT, compared to the previous price of 15. 50 lei. After approving the decision, ANRE sent a letter to all license holders asking them to submit applications for the adjustment of the regulated prices for the supply of thermal energy.
The last adjustment of the heating tariff paid by the residents of the capital was made by ANRE at the beginning of last year, when the thermal energy supplied by Termoelectrica became more expensive. Until today, Chişinău residents have paid 2,510 lei for one gigacalorie (without VAT).
Also today, the Official Journal published ANRE’s decision on the new heating tariffs for residents in the north of the country, served by CET-Nord. They will pay a higher tariff for heating. It has increased by 75 lei per gigacalorie, up to 2,201 lei, compared to 2,126 lei previously.
