Rescuers intervene in the wake of heavy rainfall in Moldova
Chisinau, 5 July /MOLDPRES/ - Rescuers of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) today intervened to remove the consequences of heavy rainfall.
According to IGSU, in the wake of the today morning heavy rains, intervention was needed in more settlements of the Ialoveni, Anenii Noi, Hancesti districts and the Chisinau municipality, where the rain caused diverse damages.
Thus, rescuers intervened to pump water from a basement of an apartment block from the Durlesti settlement, Chisinau municipality.
Rescuers’ help was also necessary in the Codru settlement, where they worked to evacuate water from basements of three blocks of flats.
In Chisinau, IGSU employees pumped water from two apartment blocks of two streets. Firemen were also called to the Varnita Street of Moldova’s capital, where a lorry carrying milk remained blocked.
IGSU employees intervened in more settlements of Moldova’s districts. Works of water pumping from basements and cellars were carried out in the village of Horesti, Ialoveni district, and Gratiesti village, Chisinau municipality.
The Commissions for Emergency Situations are to assess the damages registered following the heavy rains.
