Travel warning: Moldovan foreign affairs ministry recommends that citizens avoid visiting Russia's regions at border with Ukraine
Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) recommends that Moldova’s citizens avoid visiting the Russian regions at the border with Ukraine, in the context of the security threats in Russia.
At the same time, MAEIE recommends leaving these regions, if citizens are there.
In case of force majeure circumstances, Moldova’s citizens can call the emergency phone number of Moldova’s Embassy in Russia: +7 929 964 9079.
The Russian Counter-Terrorism Committee informed that it established anti-terror alert in Moscow and in the surrounding region, following the mutiny of the Wagner group of mercenaries. The head of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, on 23 June said that he had entered Russia with his troops, in order to overthrow the military leadership.
In a speech, the Kremlin leader, Vladimir Putin, accused the ‘traitors’’ of the Russian nation and promised to punish them.
