Moldovan MPs present Moldova’s priorities at OSCE PA Session in The Hague

Moldovan MPs presented the Republic of Moldova’s priorities at the 33rd Annual Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA), held on 3–8 July 2026 in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands. The delegation of the Republic of Moldova was headed by Veronica Roșca. The delegation also included MPs Igor Chiriac and Alexandr Berlinschii.

The Annual Session of the OSCE PA was held under the theme “International law and common principles: foundations of security and co-operation in the OSCE area” and brought together several hundred parliamentarians from Europe, North America, and Central Asia.

During the meeting, members of the Chisinau delegation took part in the sessions of the OSCE PA’s general committees, where reports and resolutions were examined and approved, as well as in the plenary sitting and thematic events organized on the sidelines of the session. In their interventions and in discussions with representatives of parliamentary delegations from Romania, the United States of America, Sweden, Norway, Austria, North Macedonia, and other states, the Moldovan MPs presented the current situation in the Republic of Moldova and the main challenges facing the country. Among the topics addressed were the fight against disinformation and hybrid warfare, the consequences of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine for the Republic of Moldova, the European integration process, the situation in the Transnistrian region, as well as the reform agenda of the authorities in Chisinau.

The event featured speeches by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Rob Jetten, the President of the Senate of the Netherlands, Mei Li Vos, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Thom van Campen, the head of the Dutch delegation to the OSCE PA, Farah Karimi, as well as the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis. The opening session also included a video message from the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who called on the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to step up pressure to stop the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

During the Annual Session, officials of the general committees and four vice-presidents of the OSCE PA were elected. The event concluded with the adoption of the Hague Declaration, which includes the resolutions of the three general committees and 14 supplementary resolutions proposed by the participating parliamentary delegations.

Furthermore, in Article 40 of the Resolution of the OSCE PA General Committee on Political Affairs and Security, the Assembly reaffirms its strong support for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA) is one of the main platforms for parliamentary dialogue in the OSCE area, bringing together representatives of legislatures from 56 participating States. The body’s role is to promote cooperation, security, respect for international law, democracy, and human rights through parliamentary diplomacy.
