Moldovan PM meets mayors from Nisporeni district
Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita and the mayors of the settlements from the central Nisporeni district today discussed the macro-economic situation in Moldova, as well as the cabinet’s policies meant to help the local public authorities (APL), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM referred to the government’s actions for re-launching the economy, hit in the wake of the war in Ukraine, disturbance of the logistic chains and the effects of the energy crisis. In particular, the sides discussed the fiscal policy for this year, which provides for a string of facilities for the development of the entrepreneurship and backing APL.
„We introduced a string of measures, which will contribute to the economic development, among which: the 0 per cent quota on the income tax for the Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), return of the sum of the Value Added Tax (VAT) accumulated in account, starting from 2023, exclusion of the ceilings for local taxes. We also increased the funds for compensations and for increasing the salaries, in order to reduce the effects of the crisis on the citizens and economic agents. We plan to launch a new mechanism of compensation of natural gas for some categories of companies,’’ Natalia Gavrilita stressed.
In another context, the prime minister urged the mayors to participate in the European Village governmental programme and other programmes which provide funds for local development.

This step will generate higher budgetary allocations, financial stimuli for the employees of these mayoralties, access to more European funds.
For their part, the mayors spoke about the challenges faced, enumerating the problem of waste management, lack of resources for actions of afforestation and the need to speed up the process of roads’ rehabilitation.
