Dorin Chirtoaca - new leader of Liberal Party
Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/- Former Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca was elected today as Liberal Party (PL) leader at the 5th Extraordinary Congress of the party.
Former PL leader Mihai Ghimpu, who has been at the helm of the party for 20 years, was elected as honorary head of Liberals.
Dorin Chirtoacă served as deputy head of the party since 2005, and in 2010 he was appointed first deputy head of the PL.
The Liberal Party is a right-wing political union of the Republic of Moldova. The Liberal Party is the legal successor of the Reform Party, formed on 5 September 1993.
