Moldova's Ambassador to Israel says Moldovans in Israel urged to stay in shelters, avoid travel

The security situation in the State of Israel stays complex and citizens of Moldova on the territory of this state are urged to exercise maximum caution. Moldova’s Ambassador to Israel Alexandr Roitman reiterated his call for compatriots to strictly observe the precautionary measures imposed by the local authorities.

“It is vitally necessary that we continue to remain in the anti-missile shelters and not leave protected spaces until the Home Front Command announces otherwise,” the diplomat said.

According to him, the current situation might last for several more days. In the context, citizens are advised to avoid non-essential travel and to constantly follow updated official information.

The Embassy of Moldova in Tel Aviv informs that Moldovan citizens can voluntarily register their presence on the territory of the State of Israel and may request urgent consular assistance if needed.

Contact details for consular emergencies:

• +972 52-278-7326

• +972 52 778 9772

• tel-aviv@mfa.gov.md

The authorities announce that they will issue further instructions, depending on the evolution of the security situation.

Eight people today were killed in central Israel, after a building “hit directly” by an Iranian rocket collapsed, AFP and Reuters report, citing Israeli emergency services. In addition, 28 people were evacuated, two of whom are in serious condition. The town of Beit Shemesh is located about 40 kilometers west of Jerusalem.
