Moldovan PM says Moldova remains in solidarity with Ukraine, supports just, lasting peace

Moldova will continue to stand in solidarity with Ukraine in the face of the “inhuman war launched by Russia” and to support a just and lasting peace, on which European security itself depends. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has made statements to this effect, following a meeting with high-ranking Ukrainian officials.

The PM discussed the security situation in the region and opportunities for bilateral cooperation, including on the reconstruction of Ukraine, with Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and Oleksii Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

“We are united by the same goal – a life in freedom and peace for our citizens. We support each other on the path to joining the European Union. We support each other on the path to EU accession. And we stand with the Ukrainian people in these terrible times, in which the aggressor is striking the energy infrastructure in the most barbaric way, while people in Kyiv are left in cold, without water, without light in this frosty weather,” the prime minister emphasized.

The Moldovan PM said that Moldova was preparing to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine, which will include generators, medical devices and emergency intervention vehicles.

The prime minister reiterated Moldova’s firm support for the Ukrainian people in these difficult times, concluding his message with: “Slava Ukraini! (Glory to Ukraine!)”
