Secretary General of Government: Reforms must continue, regardless of political changes
Political changes must not stop the necessary reforms. The reform of local public administration continues, and the State Chancellery will ensure the continuity of this process. The message was delivered today by Secretary General of the Government Alexei Buzu, following the announcement of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu’s resignation.
Alexei Buzu noted that the reform of local public administration is essential for the development of our localities, for better public services and for a more efficient administration, closer to the citizen.
“Political changes must not stop the necessary reforms. The reform of local public administration continues. It is an essential reform for the development of our localities, for better public services and for a more efficient administration, closer to the citizen,” said Alexei Buzu.
According to him, the State Chancellery will ensure the continuity of the reform and will remain alongside local public authorities.
“Our objective remains the same: a strong, responsible public administration, capable of responding to the real needs of citizens,” said the Secretary General of the Government.
At the same time, Alexei Buzu thanked Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu for his cooperation, the support offered to the government team and the backing of the processes to modernize public administration.
“It was an intense period, with important decisions, during which government institutions worked together for the European path and the well-being of the people,” concluded Alexei Buzu.
This morning, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu announced that he is stepping down after eight months in office. Shortly afterwards, President Maia Sandu held a press conference in which she announced the launch of consultations with parliamentary factions for nominating a candidate for the position of prime minister.
