MPs to convene in plenary session on Thursday
MPs will convene in a plenary session on July 9, to examine 15 draft laws. Nine relate to aligning national legislation with the acquis of the European Union.
The agenda of the plenary session was approved by the Parliament Standing Bureau. Among the draft laws to be examined are the initiative on coordination and data exchange in the field of social security with the member states of the European Union, as well as the draft law on the protection of personal data processed for the purpose of preventing and combating crimes.
At the same time, MPs will examine amendments to the Law on Financial Collateral Arrangements, the draft law on invasive alien species, as well as legislative initiatives aimed at strengthening professional ethics and modernizing human resources management in the central public administration.
The Parliament’s agenda also includes draft laws on the type-approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles, as well as the initiative providing for the automatic suspension of the registration of vehicles with dangerous defects or with expired technical inspections.
In the first reading, MPs will examine draft laws that establish a priority authorization regime for energy projects of strategic interest, create the necessary framework for the development and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems, and regulate public procurement in the fields of defense and security through special rules aligned with European standards.
In the second reading, MPs will debate the legislative initiative on including maternity and paternity allowances in the insurance contribution period.
During the plenary session, Parliament is to ratify the Convention on the establishment of the International Claims Commission for Ukraine. At the same time, lawmakers will examine the National Programme for the Prevention and Combating of Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction for the years 2026–2030.
