The Republic of Moldova received a special congratulatory message from the United States on the Independence Day. Chargé d’Affaires Nick Pietrowicz addressed the citizens in Romanian, expressing his respect and admiration for the courage, spirit and traditions that define the Moldovan people.

“Happy Independence Day, Republic of Moldova! You are a model of dignity and perseverance and the United States is proud to stand with you,” the American diplomat conveyed.

The official noted that this was his first congratulatory message to the Republic of Moldova on Independence Day, although it is not the first time he has had the opportunity to celebrate this important event in the country.

“I was fortunate to work in Moldova in the past and I am honored to return here. I would like to congratulate all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the proclamation of Independence,” said Nick Pietrowicz.

The diplomat emphasized the importance of the courage and spirit that define the people of the Republic of Moldova.

“It is a day to celebrate the courage, spirit and unique traditions that make the Republic of Moldova so special. The United States is proud to stand by your side, as you continue to build a democratic, prosperous and secure future. Happy Independence Day, Republic of Moldova,” Nick Pietrowicz emphasized.

The Republic of Moldova today marks the 34the anniversary of the proclamation of Independence, voted by parliament on August 27, 1991. On this occasion, more festive events are taking place in Chisinau and other settlements of the country.
