Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu was received at Cotroceni Palace by President of Romania Nicușor Dan. "We have a unique opportunity," Munteanu declared at a meeting with the Romanian head of state, emphasizing that for the Republic of Moldova the European path "is not just a strategic direction but also a movement of survival and protection".
The Prime Minister thanked the President of Romania for the support given to the Republic of Moldova.
"Thank you for everything you do for us. This is our first official visit, and we are very pleased to come to our friends, our brothers. I know you have contributed greatly, through all diplomats in Europe and other countries, to the process of the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, and we thank you very much. We have a unique opportunity, and surely, with all that is happening in the area, the war in Ukraine, the European path for us is not just a strategic direction but a movement of survival and protection, of national security," Alexandru Munteanu declared at the meeting with Nicușor Dan.
After the meeting, Alexandru Munteanu stated that he discussed with the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, about the special relationship between the two states, "founded on the indivisible connection between the people on both banks of the Prut."
"Romania has always been with us, and now it offers us trust and support in our European path. We continue together the projects that create more and more bridges between people: energy interconnection, common infrastructure, free movement, economic, educational, and cultural cooperation. We have a clear agenda for the next 10 years and a common commitment to deliver concrete results for citizens on both banks of the Prut," emphasized Alexandru Munteanu.
This is Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu's first foreign visit since taking office. The Prime Minister and the government team left at dawn for Bucharest.
"We have many projects to discuss. Together we are doing great things for citizens on both banks of the Prut," declared Alexandru Munteanu in the morning from Chișinău International Airport.
"The visit to Bucharest by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandru Munteanu, is also the first foreign visit he is making since taking over the leadership of the Government in Chișinău, and it comes just one day before the takeover by the Republic of Moldova, on November 14, of the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, the decision-making body of the Council of Europe, a mandate that our neighbors across the Prut will hold for the next six months," according to the Romanian Government's statement.
The official will discuss with officials from the Romanian Parliament and will have a meeting with Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Radu, the Prince Consort of Romania.
