Prime Minister orders mobilization of relevant institutions amid bad weather

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has ordered the mobilization of relevant institutions amid severe weather conditions. The message was delivered at the beginning of today’s cabinet meeting.

“I ask colleagues from the relevant ministries to act in accordance with the established protocol. According to forecasts, the weather situation will worsen in the coming hours, so we must proceed as agreed and ensure the safety of our citizens first of all, and support local authorities in the situations that will arise. We have been through such situations before and I believe we will manage this time as well,” he said.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, on February 17, 14:00 - February 18, 20:00, heavy snowfall and strong wind with speeds of up to 15–20 m/s are forecast across the country. As a result, blizzard conditions, snowdrift and low visibility will be recorded. Sleet and glaze ice will be reported in some areas.
