
Moldova received batch of military equipment as gift from USA
Chisinau, 2 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- The United States of America donated yesterday evening a batch of military equipment to the National Army of the Republic of Moldova. Accredited U.S. diplomatic mission to Chisinau and Ministry of Defense of Moldova made the statement today.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the donation of military equipment was made by the USA "in the context of the modernization of the National Army and the increase of the defense capabilities of the Republic of Moldova".
The U.S. Embassy in Chisinau said "over the past 31 years, the U.S. Government, through the U.S. European Command, has allocated more than 123 million dollars in military assistance, training and education of the military" within the National Army and over "36 million dollars in humanitarian assistance, at the request of the current Moldovan Government and previous governments".
"The agreement for these deliveries to the Republic of Moldova was concluded in 2019 and is just one of many ways the United States is proud to work with the Moldovan authorities for a more prosperous, democratic and secure future for all its citizens", the message of the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau reads.
The donation of military equipment was brought to Chisinau by air.
