Standard retirement age for women to be 62 as of 1 July
The standard retirement age for women will be 62 years, starting from July 1, and the full contribution period will be 34 years. At the same time, for men the retirement age remains unchanged at 63 years, with a contribution period of 34 years; these conditions were set on July 1, 2019.
Head of the Information and Communication Department of the National Social Insurance House (CNAS) Petru Socolan said that a reduced standard retirement age is granted to women who have given birth to and raised, up to the age of eight, five or more children. For these women, the retirement age is reduced by three years and, starting July 1, 2026, will be 59 years.
“The old-age pension is granted for life from the date on which the pension conditions are fulfilled, provided that the application and all required documents are submitted within 90 days from that date. If the deadline for submitting the application has been exceeded, the pension is granted from the date on which the last required document is submitted. The examination period is 60 days from the date the application with all necessary documents is filed,” said Petru Socolan.
To check the retirement age, CNAS encourages citizens to use the electronic service “Retirement Age Calculator”, available on the institution’s official website (www.cnas.gov.md), in the section “Electronic services provided by CNAS”. This service allows users to find out the year in which they will be able to apply for the old-age pension.
Applications for old-age pensions can be submitted online by holders of an electronic/mobile signature, by accessing the authority’s official website.
