DOC // Five judges to serve at Supreme Court of Justice
The decree on the appointment of several judges to the Supreme Court of Justice, signed by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, was published today in the Official Journal.
According to the document, Elena Croitor, Ana Cucerescu, Alexandru Negru, Sergiu Stratan, and Gheorghe Stratulat have been appointed as judges to the supreme court.
Under the presidential decree, the new judges of the Supreme Court of Justice will begin their activity on the date the act enters into force. The decree takes effect from the moment of its publication in the Official Journal.
The act was signed by President Maia Sandu on 3 July 2026 and may be challenged before the Chișinău Court within 30 days from the date of notification, under the conditions provided by the Administrative Code of the Republic of Moldova.
The appointment of the five magistrates was made pursuant to Article 116 paragraph (2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and Article 7 paragraphs (5) and (7) of the Law on the Supreme Court of Justice.
