About 300 schools, kindergartens to be equipped with modern digital devices
A total of 290 schools and kindergartens of Moldova will be equipped with modern digital devices. More than 100,000 children and about 15,000 teachers will benefit from these upgrades. The investment amounts to 15.5 million lei and is made under the Improving the Quality of Education Project, implemented by the Education and Research Ministry (MEC) and financed by the World Bank.
The new batch of equipment includes more than 1,600 units of educational goods, consisting of digital devices, IT equipment, interactive tools and other resources necessary for carrying out the teaching and learning process in modern conditions.
The decision regarding the purchase of the goods belongs directly to the administrations of the institutions and most of them have already been delivered during 2025.
The beneficiary institutions are part of the lists of 200 schools and 200 kindergartens selected on the basis of a public competition previously organized by the MEC, to be equipped with new furniture, modern equipment and didactic and methodical materials.
Marcelina Baleca, head of the General Directorate at MEC, said that equipping the institutions represented a concrete step towards creating a modern and competitive education system, capable of responding to current and future challenges.
“MEC continues the modernization of educational institutions of the country, in order to enhance access to modern educational technologies and updated teaching resources, both for institutions in urban and in rural areas,” said Marcelina Baleca.
According to MEC, the equipment will contribute to improving the quality of education and adapting the educational process to new requirements of the sector. Children and teachers will have access to high-performance educational services, with interactive methods, modern technologies and up-to-date teaching strategies.
MEC has recently implemented cumulative investments of over 500 million lei in equipment, infrastructure and educational services, in partnership with international organizations and development partners, including the World Bank.
