Moldova's authorities inform about special security measures at Summit of European Political Community
Chisinau, 4 May /MOLDPRES/ - The authorities with powers in the national security sector have informed about specific measures, in order to ensure the good carrying out of the Summit of the European Political Community (EPC), due in Moldova on 1 June.
According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the measures will be enforced gradually, depending on the operative situation, both in the road traffic and for pedestrians. Thus, the parking will not be allowed for a certain period in the maximal security perimeters. The citizens will be informed about the alternative routes of movement and possibilities of parking touring cars in the area of security meant for the EPC Summit.
Law-enforcers recommend that the citizens plan in advance the itinerary of movement on 31 May, 1 and 2 June, access roads adjacent to the Chisinau International Airport and avoid the main thoroughfares of the Moldovan capital, as well as the movement on the Chisinau-Bulboaca road and back on certain periods of time.
Also, IGP will increase the number of employees in the public spaces from Chisinau, in order to ease the road traffic and will boost the patrols, as many visitors are expected in the capital and in the neighbouring settlements. At the same time, the citizens are recommended to have the identity acts on them, if law-enforcers ask them to prove their identity.
Also, the Border Police will enhance the control and supervision in all areas of competence. Thus, the number of first-line policemen and of the special devices of control of travel documents will be increased.
During the event, the protection of the high-ranking officials will be provided by the State Guards and Protection Service (SPPS). The Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) will undertake measures aimed at discovering, preventing and counteracting actions which jeopardize the state security, public security and citizens’ security.
As for the national air space, all flights of civil airships will be banned in the time interval between 1 June, 00:00 (local time) and 2 June, 7:00 (local time); the official aircrafts represent exception. As far as the civilian remotely piloted aircrafts (drones) are concerned, the flight ban is for the period between 31 May, 00:00 (local time) and 2 June, 7:00 (local time).
At the same time, starting from 15 May, the car park from nearby the Chisinau Airport will work in special regime till 25 May; on this period, the parking of vehicles at the lower stories will be banned. The superior story will be available for parking; yet, on the period 25 May – 2 June (till 7:00, local time), the access to parking will be banned at all floors.
The EPC Summit will take place in the settlement Bulboaca, central Anenii Noi district, on 1 June. The event will bring together about 50 heads of state and government from Europe and European Union officials.
