New fire, rescue unit to be built in eastern Moldova settlement

Citizens from 12 localities of the Dubasari district will benefit from increased safety with the construction of a new fire and rescue unit in Holercani. The project, valued at about 8.9 million lei, is funded by the state budget and the Fund for the Country's Reintegration.

The launch ceremony included the participation of the Interior Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin, the leadership of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) and representatives from the construction company. During the event, the symbolic moment of breaking ground for the future unit was marked.

The new unit will be energy-independent and is planned to be operational by 2026. It will have a staff of 10 employees and will serve 12 localities in Dubasari.

“This project has strategic importance for strengthening public safety and protecting citizens' lives and property. The government and the Interior Ministry stay committed to modernizing intervention services and increasing security levels for people,” said Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin.

The building will be equipped with spaces adapted to the current needs of firefighters and rescuers, including specialized equipment and technology. The project is part of governmental efforts to strengthen civil protection infrastructure and represents an important step towards cohesion and security for communities of  the Security Zone.
