
Over 760,000 people crossed Moldova's border during holiday period
Chisinau, 3 September /MOLDPRES/- On 25 August-2 September, border police registered a flow of 767,433 people crossings. August is the most requested border crossing period.
According to the Border Police Department, the border of the Republic of Moldova was transited during the holiday period by the 160,673 times by the means of transport. The most requested border was Romania, especially the Leuşeni crossing point. Among the most transit points are Chisinau-Airport, Otaci, Tudora, Sculeni, Cahul and Giurgiulesti-Galati.
The border with Romania remains the most transited, in the three months of summer, there were registered 3,005,875 people crossing on this section. The number increased by 14.4% compared to the same period of last year. At border crossing points on the border with Ukraine border guards notified 2,828,725 crossings, up by 2.5% against the previous year. In the Chisinau International Airport there were 1,002,400 people crossings.
