
Pensions in Moldova to increase from 1 October
Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - Starting with October 1, 183 thousand pensioners with full contribution stage will receive a minimum pension of 2000 lei per month. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița made the statement today.
According to the prime minister, the pension will increase by an average of 366 lei for people with a full contribution period and at the same time, 125 thousand people with an incomplete contribution period will benefit from an increase in the pension by an average of 398 lei. The allowances for 84 thousand beneficiaries of social allowances, the amount of which depends on the value of the minimum pension will increase on average by 450 lei.
Also, from October 1, 2021, all pensioners will benefit from a 3.86% indexation of pensions. "The costs of this increase are covered by this year's budget accumulations, which have increased. I am sure that the good news for retirees will continue ", said Gavrilița.
Attending the event, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Marcel Spatari said that the new changes provide support for vulnerable pensioners, with the lowest pensions. "428 thousand people will benefit from these increases," Spatari said.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers said that this week the Government decisions and the draft laws that support this increase of pensions will be adopted.
