Water level in Prut to increase by about two meters on Costesti-Ungheni sector
Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/- The Hydrological Center of the State Hydrometeorological Service issued today a warning indicating high water level in the Prut River between Costesti and Ungheni.
The hydrological center warns that on 20-24 May, on Costesti - Ungheni sector of the Prut River, the water level will increase by 1.7 - 2.7 meters.
The increase of the water level in this sector is related to the decision of the administration of the Costeşti-Stânca Hydroelectric Power Plant to increase the volume of the water spill from Costeşti-Stânca reservoir (Prut River) to 550 m3 / s, "the source quoted.
This is the third hydrological warning during May. One was issued on 2 May, when after strong rainfall in the upper Prut River (Ukraine) the pluvial flood was formed and the water level rose on the sector between Criva village and Costesti town. The second one was issued on 11 May, when rising water level in the Prut river between Ungheni and Giurgiulesti was reported.
