
Ameteur sportspeople, war veterans of Moldova to participate in marathon Relay Race of Veterans
Chisinau, 11 October /MOLDPRES/ - Amateur sportspeople, members of the War Veterans’ Association of Moldova, Faithfulness to Motherland, and Run Moldova Association will participate in the marathon, Relay Race of Veterans, organized by the Invictus Romania Association.
Runners from Moldova will set out from nearby the Heroes’ Cemetery on the Decebal blvd. 17 to run on a distance of 150 km on the Chisinau-Iasi segment.
It is for the first time ever when amateur sportsmen and veterans, who participate in the marathon in the memory of the war heroes, are involved in the events on commemorating the heroes, organized by the Invictus Association Romania.
The ultra-marathon, Relay Race of Veterans, is a sports event for runners and war veterans, who will run 3,800 km on three routes – blue, yellow and red, symbolizing the tricolor flag. Several thousands of participants will run on the three itineraries of the relay race, from Marasesti, Fagaras and Chisinau, up to Carei.
The finish will be at the Monument to the Romanian Soldier from Carei, Romania, declared hero-city by the Romanian parliament.
