
Moldovan education ministry plans to invest millions of lei in sport in 2025
In 2025, the Ministry of Education and Research will allocate 2.5 million lei for continuing capital investments at the Sports School in Grimăncăuți, Briceni, and another 8 million lei will be allocated to the National Training Center for the construction of a canteen to serve performance athletes.
An additional 2.5 million lei will be allocated for the renovation of the athletics tracks and the football field at the sports school in Bălți.
This year, a unique program Moldova in Motion will be implemented for the first time. This project is carried out by GIZ with funding from the German Federal Government amounting to 100,000 euros.
Under the cooperation protocol signed with Romania, several joint actions will be carried out, including the cross-border ultramarathon Rubicon 2025, on the route Bucharest-Chișinău, supported by the Ministry of Education and Research alongside the National Agency for Sport from Romania.
Various exchange programs in sports management will be implemented.
Also, this year several policy documents and regulatory acts in the sports will be set up and modified.
MEC's priorities for 2025 in the sports were discussed in several working meetings, held by State Secretary Sergiu Gurin with directors of sports institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Research, as well as with physical education teachers, coaches, athletes and representatives of local specialized education authorities.
