Life, works of departed writer of Moldova reflected at homage-paying exhibition hosted by parliament
Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament of Moldova hosts an exhibition titled, Dumitru Matcovschi, symbol poet of Bessarabia. Eighty fifth birthday anniversary, which reflects the literary works of the writer and shows photos with important moments from the life of the author. The exhibition is organized by the parliament’s Secretariat, in cooperation with the National Library of Moldova and the National Agency of Archives.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the exhibition represents homage paid to the departed writer and is aimed at promoting the works of Dumitru Matcovschi, who played an essential role in the national culture. Visitors will be able to see again the writer’s works, the volumes of poetry, prose, dramaturgy, monographs, albums, CDs with songs on lyrics by Matcovschi, translations of his works in various languages, periodical editions, etc.
Dumitru Matcovschi was a poet, prose writer, academician, publicists and dramatist, titular member of Moldova’s Academy of Sciences. He was author of over 50 volumes and represents a symbol of the national revival movement of Moldova. He is Knight of the Order of the Republic and Knight of the Star of Romania Order in rank of Commander.
The exhibition is placed in the parliament’s museum and can be visited for free will late next November. For schedulings, you may access the website www.vizite.parlament.md.
