Chisinau, 3 March /MOLDPRES/- A concert by the National Women's Orchestra Jiangsu from China was given at the Organ Hall on 2 March. The event took place within the International Music Festival, Martisor, the 50th issue.
The concert was organized by the Chinese Embassy in Chisinau and Culture Ministry of Moldova.
In his inaugural speech, Chinese Ambassador to Chisinau Zhang Yinghong said that, although China and Moldova were on different continents, at a great distance from each other, the friendship relations between the two countries were on the rise each year.
“I am very happy to attend this concert. The International Music Festival, Martisor, is a special cultural event. The National Women 's Orchestra has its headquarters in Lianyungang city, Jiangsu province. It is the only professional orchestra of women from China, performing traditional Chinese music. Presently, it enjoys great popularity both in the country and abroad”, he said.
Deputy Culture Minister Igor Sarov said that the participation of artistic groups from China in the Martisor Festival had already become a tradition. He thanked the Chinese embassy for the support provided to deepen cultural ties between the two countries.
Besides the Chinese traditional music, the orchestra interpreted also two Moldovan folk songs, for which it was applauded for a long time.
The National Women's Orchestra Jiangsu from China is laureate of more international contests. Sponsored by the Culture Ministry from China and government of Jiangsu province, the orchestra promotes the Chinese musical culture in Europe, Asia and America, as well as on the most prestigious stages of the country, such as China National Grand Theater.
