Opera singer Mihail Munteanu celebrates 75th anniversary
Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/- Opera singer and teacher Mihail Munteanu, People’s Artist, is today 75 years.
He was born on 15 August 1943 in Criva village, Briceni district. He studied at the Gavriil Musicescu Arts Institute in Chisinau (1960-1971), and in 1977-1978 - at the La Scala Theater in Milan.
Over more than four decades of activity, he presented over 1,000 performances. He has toured in almost all countries in Europe, the USA and the Philippines. He worked with Maria Biesu, Alexandru Samoilă, Ioan Paulencu, Eugen Doga, Gheorghe Mustea and other performers, conductors and composers.
Mihail Munteanu is the People's Artist, knight of the "Order of the Republic", winner of the National Prize, Doctor Honoris Causa of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, holder of the "Cultural Merit" Order in Romania's knighthood.
