Chisinau, June 13. /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Lilia Dabija and Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov signed yesterday, in Kyiv, an Agreement on construction of the cross-border road bridge over the Dniester River, on the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, in the area of Cosăuti – Yampil.
The construction of the road bridge will interconnect the road infrastructures between the two states, on the route T-02-02 Mohyliv-Podilsky-Yampil-Kryzopil-Bershad-Uman (Ukraine) and the national road R14.1 R14-Kosăuţi - the border with Ukraine (Republic Moldova). "Also, the road network through the eastern part of the Republic of Moldova will be connected to the international traffic road network, thus facilitating trade on the domestic and international markets", Dabija said.
The Government of Ukraine will provide financing for the technical project of the bridge, including its construction, as well as the construction of the related infrastructure on its territory, and the Moldovan government will provide the construction of the related road infrastructure on the territory of our state.
The bridge will have a length of more than 1400 meters, two traffic lanes and two pedestrian sidewalks on both sides. The construction is to be put into operation in 2025. All aspects related to the construction of the Cosăuți - Yampil road bridge will be monitored by the Moldovan-Ukrainian Joint Commission, due to be set up to this end.
