Moldovan, European officials approach current issues
Chisinau, Dec 12. /MOLDPRES/- During a working visit to Brussels, Moldovan President Maia Sandu met with António Costa, who took office as President of the European Council on December 1, the presidential press service has reported.
President Costa expressed the European Union's strong support for Moldova's European path and reaffirmed commitment to support initiatives that will directly benefit Moldovan citizens. "For the period immediately ahead, we agreed to start as soon as possible the implementation of the EU-supported economic growth program, to finalize in 2025 the negotiations for accession to the Single Payment Area, so that Moldovans will no longer pay fees for transactions with EU banks, and to eliminate roaming charges entirely," the head of state said.
"Together with António Costa and the European Union, we are on the right track, and Moldova will continue to make progress and build a better future for all citizens", Maia Sandu added.
On December 10-11, Maia Sandu was on a working visit to Brussels, her first visit after the confirmation of the European path in the referendum.
