
Moldovan foreign affairs minister has phone conversation with Dutch diplomacy head
Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a phone conversation with Foreign Affairs Minister of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra on the subject of the security situation in the region and the way the flow of refugees is managed by the Moldovan authorities, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
„I reiterated along with the Dutch minister the firm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within the internationally recognized borders and in the context of the humanitarian crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine. I thanked the Dutch official for the valuable essential humanitarian assistance provided to Moldova, in order to be able to cope with the large number of refugees from the neighbour country,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.
Following the submission of the application on accession to the European Union by Moldova, the Chisinau diplomacy head reiterated the irreversibility of the European integration course for his Dutch counterpart. He noted that Moldova relied on the support of the Netherlands for the European path and he agenda of reforms aimed at modernizing the country.
