
Moldovan government approved plan of events on Remembrance, Gratitude Day
Chisinau, Feb. 23 / MOLDPRES /- On Remembrance and Gratitude Day, on March 2, activities will be organized in several localities in the country to commemorate the heroes who fell in the 1992 armed conflict to defend the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova. A decision to this effect was approved today by the Executive, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The document includes the plan of events, which will be held in recognition of the state and society for the special merits of veterans of the armed conflict of 1992. According to the plan, people with disabilities from fighting and the families of those who fell in debt will receive annual material assistance, and war veterans will receive a complex medical examination and, if necessary, hospital and spa treatment.
Exhibitions of documents and historical materials dedicated to fallen heroes, sports competitions and educational-patriotic activities are also to be organized in educational institutions. At the same time, the participants in the actions for the defense of the country's integrity and independence will meet with recruits, young employees of the National Army, the Intelligence and Security Service and institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The events will take place in strict compliance with the measures for the prevention and control of COVID-19 infection, set out in the decisions of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission.
The year 2022 is declared the year of gratitude to war veterans, participants in the actions to fight for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova.
