
Moldovan parliament speaker, representatives of more NGOs discuss opportunities of boosting dialogue with civil society
Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has met representatives of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. Attending the event were MPs from different parliamentary commissions, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The discussion was focused on the identification of instruments of boosting the dialogue with representatives of the civil society from diverse sectors. ‘’It is necessary that this cooperation is permanent and organized. The interaction should take place at the level of commissions, working groups on diverse fields, aimed at settling certain problems,’’ Speaker Igor Grosu said.
The parliament speaker referred to the support provided by representatives of the civil society, in order to consolidate the parliamentary democracy, as well as in efforts of implementing the agenda of Moldova’s European integration.
The participants in the event also discussed the parliament’s medium- and short-term agenda. The heads of the standing parliamentary commissions unveiled priorities on fields of competence, among which the reform of justice, local public administration, fiscal reform, ensuring the rights of people with disabilities or combating the informal labour. In this respect, the lawmakers said they relied on the support and opinions expressed by civil society’s representatives in the process of adoption of legislative initiatives.
The National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum brings together over 100 NGOs and is focused on the work on more key sectors, among which economy, environment, human rights or local public administration.
