Moldovan PM receives delegation of International Committee of the Red Cross
Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has received on visit a delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), with headquarters in Moldova. The discussion was focused on the activities undertaken by the international organization in Moldova since the beginning of Russia’s war against Ukraine, on ICRC’s contribution to the management of the humanitarian crisis and the assistance provided to the Ukrainian refugees, in cooperation with the national authorities, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„We back the mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Moldova and we must focus the efforts on the humanitarian response, good cooperation with the national institutions and providing beneficiaries with specialty support,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.
„We are happy that the authorities have proved openness in our cooperation. We reaffirm our commitment to boost the providing of the assistance needed to the war victims, as well as to promote the international humanitarian law. Through the trainings we organize, we are set to strengthen the capacity of reaction and of providing support to people at risk,’’ the head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Doris El Doueihy, said.
The sides also referred to the Committee’s initiative to open a national information bureau in Chisinau.
