
Chisinau, March 2 / MOLDPRES /- President Maia Sandu met last night with Helga Schmid, OSCE Secretary General, who is on a working visit to Chisinau, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials approached the security situation in the region and how it affected Moldova.
Helga Schmid thanked the Moldovan authorities for their support in evacuating the OSCE civilian monitoring mission from Ukraine last week. It is about 300 people, who arrived in a convoy of 80 cars in Chisinau, from where they were later repatriated to their countries of origin. The OSCE official expressed deep appreciation for the humanitarian action carried out by the Republic of Moldova to help the refugees from Ukraine.
