Fines worth over 7 million lei imposed in Moldova since establishment of emergency state
Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/ - Fines worth 7.15 million lei have been imposed in Moldova since the establishment of the emergency state (1 April – 30 May). Acting Prime Minister Aurelio Ciocoi has made statements to this effect at a news briefing held after a meeting of the single command centre of the emergency state.
According to the PM, a serious situation as to the maintenance of sanitary norms in conditions of pandemic remains in the public passenger transport, commercial markets and the churches.
„Colleagues from the Interior Ministry (MAI) made an inspection on 17 and 18 April. Thus, on 17 April, over 5,000 people participated in religious services or the religious services were held indoors in 623 churches and in open air – in 42 churches. On 18 April, over 10,000 people took part in religious services and the general problem is that, while the icons are disinfected, rooms are aired, then the communion continues with the same spoon, without disinfection,’’ Aureliu Ciocoi said.
„I do not want to be evil, but I am afraid that this fact can lead to an increase in the number of people infected with Covid-19 in the next 10-14 days,’’ the official noted.
At the same time, the acting prime minister said that ‘’it is more and more difficult for policemen to coordinate the embarking in the public transport.’’ ‘’Unfortunately, citizens show a crass irresponsibility and oppose policemen who try to monitor the flow of passengers at 76 stations from the Chisinau municipality, where patrols are placed,’’ Ciocoi said.
„A big agglomeration is recorded in agro-industrial and commercial markets on Fridays and Saturdays. This fact confirms the incapacity of the administrations of these economic units to properly manage their activity in the emergency state,’’ the prime minister also said.
Aureliu Ciocoi called on the managers of the markets and commercial centres to take efforts, to involve additional staff, at least in the week-end, in order to keep the flow of clients under the control demanded by authorities. ‘’It is better for people to wait outdoors in queues, with the observance of the social distance, than to make agglomeration, thus putting to risk the fellow countrymen,’’ the acting prime minister said.
The Instruction No 1 of the Commission for Emergency Situations confirms the validity of the decisions by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CNESP), adding also other restrictive measures as to the administrative and social organization in the state. Thus, the Commission instructed that any economic unit, no matter the form of legal organization and status, will suspend its work fully or only of some entities or subdivisions on the period of the emergency state, if it infringes the epidemiological norms and pose public danger.
