
Moldova blocks funds and economic resources belonging to EU-sanctioned individuals
Chisinau, Aug 2 /MOLDPRES/- Inter-Institutional Supervisory Board has decided to apply EU international restrictive measures in connection with the destabilization of the Republic of Moldova.
According to the board's decision of August 1, funds and economic resources belonging to Vladimir Plahotniuc, Ilan Shor, Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, Marina Tauber, Chiril Guzun, Arina Corșicova, Dumitru Chitoroagă, Maria Albot, Victor Petrov, Igor Ceaika, Dmitri Miliutin and other internationally sanctioned persons are blocked on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
Funds, economic resources belonging to, owned, held or controlled by private people on the EU sanctions list are frozen. The decision also stipulates that making funds and economic resources available to the subjects of the restrictions, as well as the use of funds and economic resources for their benefit is prohibited.
The Decision of August 1, 2024 is valid until April 29, 2025. It is subject to review.
The Republic of Moldova aligned with the international restrictive measures imposed by the United States on December 27, 2023. The list of US sanctions includes Vladimir Plahotniuc, Ilan Shor and his wife Sara, Russian citizen Igor Chaika his affiliated companies, as well as a group of agents of Russian intelligence bodies.
